Seat Allocation For Children ... |
|
|
|
|
|
First and foremost make sure you know your airline's policy for seat allocation when travelling with children, toddlers or babies.
In most cases, airlines offer their bulkhead seats (found at the front of each cabin section) to families as they have some children facilities. Some airlines will let you pre-book, others work on a first come, first serve basis. |

Secondly, make sure you leave for the airport with loads of time to spare. It can take hours trying to get out to the shops each week, times it by four when you have suitcases and hand luggage to pack (and passports to remember).
Do you know how to get to Bristol Airport? Do you really know where you are going? Make sure you've got your route mapped out, and consider if there are likely to be any road works or delays that you would need to take into account.

You've got to the airport on time. You've pre-booked your seats. Don't get let down at the last hurdle - pre-book your airport parking.
If you are travelling with children from Bristol Airport consider booking a meet and greet parking service. You won't have to worry about transfer buses and remote car parks.
Simply drive straight up to your departing terminal, unload your luggage (and children!)and move quickly to check in because your car will be taken away to a secure car park by the meet and greet Rep. On your return, your car will be waiting outside the airport terminal ready for the final journey home.
Once you're in the airport and checking in ask if the flight is full. When flying with children most airline personnel try and book you a seat next to an empty one, or block the seat next to you so that you have more room.
As a family you'll be asked to board first so you can have more time to get comfortable and you can get direct help from a member of the cabin crew.

Buying Baby Food and Water Overseas ... |

Purchasing Baby Foods Overseas
If you are at all concerned about travelling overseas with your baby and how you will find suitable foods then read this useful guide. In the following sections we aim to provide some helpful information about purchasing your baby essentials whilst away including foods and nappies.
When flying with babies or very young children, to pack a certain amount of baby foods in your suitcases. This is so you can arrive safely at your destination and get settled before rushing off out in a blind panic trying to find formula – it’s especially worth packing some pre-bottled packs of formula milk too - or jars of baby food etc.
Bottled Water For Babies
Do not give your baby tap water when overseas as it will upset their tummies and can be dangerous. Give your baby bottled water for drinking. When making up formula use bottled water also and boil it first as you would back in the UK. When buying bottled water it’s very important to check that the water brand you are buying contains less than 30 Na of sodium. If you’re travelling to Spain many of their pharmacies sell specially distilled water for babies.
Powdered Milk
You will need to go to a pharmacy to purchase formula, powdered milk. Don't expect to find, for instance, a familiar Cow & Gate box on the shelf, they are re-branded for overseas markets. In Spain for instance is called Almiron. For more information about buying your particular brand of milk overseas you should call the telephone advice line on the pack of your milk packet.
Baby Food Jars
Families holidaying in Europe will find it very easy to buy baby food in jars. Local supermarkets, although if you are somewhere remote then try a larger main supermarket, should all stock a good selection of baby foods and snacks. As will most pharmacies. Hero is a very available baby food in Spain and across Europe. Hipp is also readily available as are products from Nestle.
Nappy Brands
You can buy nappies in almost all supermarkets where you'll find the main brands like as Pamper and Huggies readily available. It’s important to note that in many European Countries cotton nappies are very rare, particularly in Spain, so if you normally use re-useable nappies then you may need to consider using disposables whilst you are away. |
